Complete step-by-step guide to setting up Telegram's TON Wallet for seamless use with Workton platform. This guide focuses exclusively on the TON Wallet section.

**🚫 DO NOT USE Crypto Wallet (Custodial)**

* This is Telegram's custodial service where they control your keys
* NOT compatible with Workton's smart contracts
* May cause payment failures and fund access issues
* Cannot connect to Workton's TON-based escrow system

**✅ USE ONLY TON Wallet (Non-Custodial)**

* You control your private keys via 24-word recovery phrase
* Full TON blockchain access required for Workton
* Connects directly to Workton's smart contracts
* Required for USDT payments and escrow functionality

**Why TON Wallet Only?** Workton operates on TON blockchain smart contracts that require direct wallet connection. The custodial Crypto Wallet acts as an intermediary and cannot interact with our escrow system, potentially causing payment failures or fund access problems.

**🚨 FINAL WARNING**: If you accidentally use Crypto Wallet instead of TON Wallet, your transactions with Workton will fail and you may lose access to funds. Always ensure you see "TON" tab selected, never "Crypto" tab.

### Step 1: Access TON Wallet in Telegram

#### Launch Telegram Wallet

1. **Open Telegram app** on your device
2. **Start** [**@wallet**](http://t.me/wallet) **bot** or search for "Wallet" in Telegram
3. **Add to attachment menu** when prompted (paperclip icon for easy access)

#### Navigate Directly to TON Wallet

1. **Open Wallet mini-app** from attachment menu or @wallet bot
2. **IMPORTANT**: You'll see two tabs - **Tap "TON" tab**
3. **Ignore "Crypto" tab** - this is the custodial wallet NOT for Workton
4. **Stay in TON tab** for all Workton-related activities

**🚨 Remember**: Always use the TON tab, never the Crypto tab for Workton transactions.

### Step 2: Set Up TON Wallet (Non-Custodial)

#### Create New TON Wallet

1. **Tap "TON" tab** in wallet interface
2. **Select "Create New Wallet"** (or "Add Existing Wallet" if importing)
3. **Generate new TON address** on TON blockchain
4. **Follow backup prompts** (see next section)
5. **Tap "View TON Wallet"** to complete setup

#### Backup Your Recovery Phrase

**🚨 Critical Security Step - Your 24-word phrase is the master key**

**Manual Backup (Recommended)**

1. **Tap "Back Up Manually"** when prompted
2. **Write down all 24 words** in exact order
3. **Double-check spelling** and sequence
4. **Store offline securely** (notebook, secure password manager)
5. **Confirm backup** by entering requested words

**Email Backup (Optional)**

1. **Tap "Back Up via Email"** for additional recovery option

#### Option A: Receive from Exchange/External Wallet

1. **Stay in TON Wallet tab** in Telegram

4. **Withdraw Toncoin** to your copied TON address
5. **Wait for confirmation** (usually under 1 minute on TON network)

#### Option B: Receive from Another TON Wallet

1. **Share your TON address** with sender
2. **They send TON directly** to your TON address
3. **All transfers are on-chain** and visible on TON blockchain
4. **Receive confirmation** within 1-2 minutes

#### Option C: Buy TON Externally (Recommended)

**🚨 Important**: Buy TON from external exchanges, NOT from Telegram's Crypto Wallet

**Recommended Exchanges for TON:**

* **Binance** - supports direct TON withdrawals
* **OKX** - native TON support
* **Bybit** - TON trading pairs available
* **KuCoin** - direct TON blockchain withdrawals

**Steps:**

1. **Create account** on supported exchange
2. **Buy TON** with fiat or crypto

#### Get USDT on TON Network

**🚨 Critical**: Workton requires USDT on TON blockchain only. Do NOT use USDT on other networks.

#### Option A: Buy USDT from Exchange and Send to TON Wallet

1. **Buy USDT on TON network** from supported exchanges:
   * **Binance** - supports USDT on TON
   * **OKX** - native USDT-TON pairs
   * **Gate.io** - TON network USDT
   * **MEXC** - USDT withdrawals on TON
2. **Withdraw USDT** to your TON Wallet address:
   * Select **TON network** (not TRC-20, ERC-20, or others)
   * Use your TON Wallet address from Step 2
   * Minimum amount usually 1-10 USDT
3. **Wait for confirmation** (usually 1-2 minutes on TON)

#### Option B: Convert TON to USDT

1. **Use DEX on TON network** like DeDust or STON.fi
2. **Connect your TON Wallet** to the DEX
3. **Swap TON for USDT** directly in your wallet
